Scorpio Collective brings 17th century passion
15 February 2009
Slide
factory is the trombone festival where all music styles
come together. For example, on Sunday afternoon from 14:00
to 15:00 you can enjoy a splendid concert of ancient music
given by the Scorpio Collective.
The trombone (together with the cornetto) flourished extensively
in the 16th and early 17th centuries. A varied, virtuosic
and colourful repertoire stems from this period.
The Scorpio Collective will follow in the footsteps of Nicola
Dalla Casa (Girolamo’s brother and trombonist at the
San Marco in Venice) during an imaginary trip through Europe.
The Scorpio Collective, established by Simen van Mechelen,
brings unbridled passion, charm and dynamism to its performances.
