Jos Jansen (NL) is a phenomenon on the bass trombone. With his virtuoso performance, characteristic sound and in particular his versatility, he appeals to a large audience.

 

As a solo player he has performed in a.o. the United States, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. Jos feels at home in light and classical styles and with his open approach to music inspires many trombonists. He regulary gives workshops and is often a guest at leading trombone festivals.

 

His qualities are best expressed in “Typical Jay Jay”, by Peter Kleine Schaars. This piece for soloists with orchestra was dedicated to Jos in 1995, and is still in great demand. Due to his sense of humour and feeling for the theatrical Jos is a popular guest soloist, he turns each performance into a unique celebration! Jos Jansen is a member of the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy and plays exclusively on Willson trombones.
